The screen used in the shadow-play component of the vignette is robust enough to allow actors to push into it, creating wonderfully misshaped organic forms.

The show’s being filmed tonight and should be broadcast on Rupavahini next week.

Tehani Chitty constructs a dance sequence to mark the emergence of her character from puppet to sorceress. The cast and crew are two nights from the performance, which is to be broadcast nationwide on Saturday night.

Rapid-Prototyping: Subha Wijesiriwardena and Nadim Akram practice a dance sequence in the play. Nadim joined the production last night and the dance was introduced shortly after rehearsal started. The actors must work tirelessly to build in new routines, test them and discard them if they don’t work.
