The tall, glass-and-concrete buildings are tall and block the sunlight. The lovely Neo-Romanesque brick building was built in 1934 to house Auckland’s first licensed radio station (1YA Radio). It was later converted to broadcast TV and was the site of New Zealand’s first TV broadcast (1960). Until January (?) it was part of it is Auckland University’s Gus Fisher art gallery.
